Twisted Explosion Card

I saw this on another blog and had to have a go.  This is such an easy card to make and so effective.  I recently made one for an engagement and each member of the family signed one of the four cards in the pockets.

I've used the new In Colours and the Chalk Talk stamp set to decorate the outside of the card.  Inside, I've stamped the card inserts using Betsy's Blossoms stamp set which is so versatile.   I've had this stamp set for a while and not really used it until now.  It's one of my favourites so I will be using it more and more.

I'm holding a class to make twisted explosion cards on 22 August.  Message me for details if you'd like to join me or book here.

Simply Sketched

Another card from Caroline Hallet's class last week was made using one of the hostess sets from the 2013-14 catalogue.  I think the hostess stamp sets are sometimes overlooked but this is a fabulous stamp set which I will be using regularly in future.

The colours are from the latest In Colours - coastal cabana and baked brown sugar.  Don't you just love the names!

We will be using the 2013-2015 In Colours in our Twisted Explosion Cards Class on 22 August.  To book your place, click here.

Beautiful French Butterfly ...

I recently attended a stamping class with Caroline Hallett which was great fun.  We used En Francais and the fabulous Swallowtail background stamps.  These stamps are quite large and I had to use two hands to hold them!

The colours I chose were Rose Red and Old Olive which contrast beautifully.  What do you think?

I will be holding a class in Ashford, Kent on Thursday 22 August at 7 pm.  We will be making a twisted explosion card in the latest In Colours with co-ordinating designer papers.   Click here to book a place.

Faux Shadow Box Card

When I saw this tutorial by Lisa Curcio I just had to have a go!  The video is great and very easy to follow.  My card is basically the same with a few slight differences as I used the products I already have.  To see the tutorial click here.

The card stock is Rich Razzleberry, Pool Party and Whisper White with a piece of matchig DSP.  The inks used are Rich Razzleberry and Summer Starfruit.

The stampset is the gorgeous Papillon Potpourri with the matching Elegant Butterfly punch.  To finish off I added some rhinestones.

Nothing is wasted! The punched out piece has been used to decorate the inside of the card.

Oh, Hello!

This is one of the first sets I've used from the Summer Catalogue and it's fabulous.  It's called Oh, Hello and is so easy to use.

As you can see, I've stamped the oval and then die cut it with the Big Shot and the Oval Framelits Collection.  The flower is so easy to cut round and just adds dimension to the card.

I love embellishments and the Artisan Embillishments Kit gives you just enough to try everything so perfect for a card like this.

Watch this space for more cards using this stampset.

Layered Labels

Today I've gone back to the main 2012-13 catalogue which I think we tend to forget about when there are mini catalogues for Autumn/Winter and soon Spring/Summer plus of course Sale-a-Bration.

The stamp set is Layered Labels which matches the Apothacary Accents Framelits perfectly.

The edges of the label have been inked with Island Indigo to emphasise the shape and a couple of brads added to give it a bit of texture.

I love the simplicity of this card.
