The Crafter’s Lament

I think I’ve caught the latest bug, though I’m far from feeling down.
I haven’t got a fever, I’m just a mad old cow.
My bug is quite infectious, and has changed my very life.
You see, I used to have a husband – and he used to have a wife.

It started with a die stamp, but then I bought some more.
I decided that a shoe box, would make an ideal store.
Then as I added inks and pens, my stamping collection grew.
So I bought a sturdy plastic crate, it would last for years, I knew.

Embossing then became my thing with powders and a heat gun,
Metallics, tinsels, pearls and clear; I soon had every one
By now my lovely plastic crate was spilling everywhere
And my glitter glue collection lay scattered on a chair.

My husband started muttering and said things would have to stop
So I bought a huge old wardrobe from the local charity shop.
But after just a little while, I couldn’t shut the door.
Thus, I put up shelves in the spare room, to accommodate yet more!

My bug became my addiction, and spread throughout the house.
Quietly sneaking from room to room  - just like a little mouse.
My husband couldn’t cope, said the cards would go or him.
Well it wasn’t a difficult choice – so now he lives in Lymn.

Then I found this place called Girlie Pink, that sells digi stamps online.
You can download, resize and print them, there’s hundreds of designs.
There are no storage issues, no wood nor plastics too,
so I binned all the old ones,  and bought them all a new.

Now my home is back to normal, though hubby is still away,
Somehow I’ve forgot to tell him, so he cannot stop my play
I enjoy the peace and quiet, it gives me time for thought
By the way, have I shown you, the latest digi stamp I’ve bought…………
