Happy New Year

The festivities are over and now it's time to get back to card making!

I've started with a birthday card which has been inspired by a concertina card I saw at Christmas.  My card is only 2 panels but it can be made to any size.  The concertina card was 6 panels and tied with ribbon so would look lovely as a scrapbook or maybe a "Grandma's boasting book" with all the latest photos of the grandchildren.

My card (shown below) is based on 2 sheets of 12" x 12" paper from Stampin' Up! folded to make the base of the card.  A spine has been added in a contrasting colour to allow the "book" to open and embellishments placed inside to decorate it.  By putting in a spine, there is more flexibility in the embellishments that can be used.

The silhouette on the front is a Girlie Pink digistamp which can be resized to suit each individual project.  It has been coloured using Stampin' Up! water based ink in Pumpkin Pie, Old Olive and Chocolate Chip.

The bird on the inside left has been made using a Stampin' Up! punch

The card/book is held together with ribbon to make a very pretty card

If you are interested in making this project - either as a simple card or a concertina card with more pages - please let me know and I'll make it the
subject of a workshop

If you'd like any more information on the products used, or would be interested in attending a workshop, please let me know.
