Today is the last day of the March frenzy

I ordered several things from the March frenzy and got some beautiful products.  If you'd like to know more, or order from the promotion, please call me.

Included in my order was the Greenhouse Gala designer series paper which is just gorgeous and really brightened up my day.  Here I've used it in a mini album for Mother's Day.  The album was put together by Andrew for his Mum and he decided to keep it quite simple, and not decorate it too much.  Of course, you can add as many embellishments as you like and make it much more decorative.

The flower on the front is cut out from one of the Greenhouse Gala papers.  The other embellishments have been stamped with the Punch Potpourri stamp set (bird) and the Punch Bunch stamp set - which unfortunately is no longer available.  Both have matching punches.  Using the punches really does make your cards look very professional.

The inside of the mini album has been put together using a 12" x 12" sheet from the Brights Designer Paper Stack.  This co-ordinates perfectly with the Greenhouse Gala papers.

SU Supplies:
Card stock - Pear Pizzazz
DSP: Greenhouse Gala, Brights
Stamps: Punch Potpourri, Punch Bunch (SAB set no longer available)
Ink: Chocolate Chip
Punches: Two Step Bird, Scallop Circle, Oval Scallop
Other: rhinestones

Tomorrow the mini catalogue is launched.  Please come back and check it out - it is full of fantastic products and I can't wait to start using them.

Less than a week to Mother's Day ...

I made this card in a recent class with Amanda Bates and I just love it.

As it's a swing card, the back is as nice as the front.  The swing card itself is much easier to create than it looks!

The pink card has been stamped with the French Filigree background stamp and then the centre decorated on both sides.   The ribbon just finishes it off.

SU Supplies:
Card: Regal Rose, Chocolate Chip, Old Olive
DSP: Nursery Suite
Stamps: French Filigree, Style Beautiful, Occasional Greetings
Ink: Regal Rose, Chocolate Chip, Old Olive
Ribbon: Pretty in Pink
Accessories: brads, pearls

Easter Bunny

This project is just so cute!  I attended a class with Amanda Bates yesterday and this is one of the projects we made.  Isn't the Easter Bunny just adorable?

The box is the perfect size for chocolates and could be adapted for your favourite chocolates - or anything else you can think of which would make a nice present.

The Easter bunny is made from a variety of punches - mostly ovals and circles in various sizes.  Can you spot the hearts?

Now all I need to do is fill the box with chocolate and give it to a friend for Easter.

Greenhouse Garden & Nursery Suite - but not a baby card!

Today's card has been submitted to the CPS Sketch Challenge.  I just love trying sketch challenges - they give you inspiration and ideas for the layout but the papers and colours you use is totally up to you. Why not have a go and see what you can come up with?

I've used background papers from the Brights paper stack and also from the Nursery Suite DSP.  The Nursery Suite papers could easily be used for an Easter card or just a spring card with the addition of a sentiment.

The flowers are from the Greenhouse Garden stamp set which is great fun.  The petals have been stamped first in Blushing Bride and then the centre of the flower over-stamped  in Chocolate Chip.  This really is very effective and so simple to do.

Vintage Vogue

It's such a beautiful day today that I should be outside in the garden but I just can't resist making a card with the Vintage Vogue stamp set I'm afraid!

This card is very simple and quick to make.  You can't see it very well from the photograph but the background has been distressed with Peach Parfait and Pear Pizzazz  before being overstamped with Pumpkin Pie and Old Olive inks.

DSP: Brights
Ink: Peach Parfait, Pumpkin Pie, Pear Pizzazz, Old Olive

Bird Song

Today's card is being submitted to the Cute Card Thursday challenge. This week its music & dance and I thought a musical score plus a bird would make the perfect card!

I just love the stamps which have a matching punch - makes the cutting out so much easier and also gives it a much more professional look.

The music paper I've used is from the Newsprint DSP and the stripes are from the Nursery Suite - and not a baby in sight!

SU Supplies:

CS: Crumb Cake
DSP: Newsprint, Nursery Suite
Ink: Chocolate Chip
Stamps: Punch Potpourri
Punch: Bird
Other: rhinestone

Newsprint DSP and Bird Punch

Today's card is being submitted to the Papertake Weekly Challenge which this week is "Trio Tastic".

The CS is Cherry Cobbler  with a torn strip of Newsprint DSP down one side.  The edge of the Newsprint has been inked with Pear Pizzazz.

The birds have been stamped with the Punch Potpourri stampset and then punched out with the bird punch - I just love the punches which match stamp sets; they make the cutting out so much quicker and easier.

The flower is layered scallops which have then been inked with Peach Parfait to match the birds.

SU products:
CS: Cherry Cobbler
DSP: Newsprint
Stamp set: Punch Potpourri
Ink: Peach Parfait, Pear Pizzazz
Punch: Bird
Ribbon, brad & rhinestones

Nursery Suite Bag

Yesterday I went to a card class with Amanda Bates and made this lovely bag and some cards to go in it.  This is the perfect way to keep your cards or alternatively would make a lovely present for a friend.

The bag itself is made from one sheet of A4.  It has been decorated with Nursery Suite DSP and the matching stickers.  The handles are attached to the bag with tabs and some faux stitching which looks very realistic.

This is a lovely quick and easy project to make and so practical for storing your stash of cards, just ready for the next birthday etc.

Vintage Vogue Easel Card

I've gone back to my favourite stamp set, Vintage Vogue I'm afraid.  I just love it and seem to use it in nearly everything I do at the moment.

I've used the Nursery Suite for the background papers and a piece of Pumpkin Pie cardstock on the front.  The stamped flowers are from the Vintage Vogue stamp set and I've used Pumpkin Pie ink.  The card is finished off with punched butterflies, buttons and rhinestones.

This is a very easy card to make - contact me if you'd like to attend one of my classes and make cards like this for your friends and family.

SU! supplies:

CS: Pumpkin Pie, Whisper White
DSP: Nursery Suite
Ink: Pumpkin Pie
Punch: Butterfly
Accessories: ribbon, buttons, rhinestones

Newsprint Card

I've had this paper for a while and not done anything with it so today I decided to have a go and see what happened!  This is the result - I hope you like it.

I put the Newsprint DSP through the Cuttlebug using an embossing folder and then used the brayer to cover it with Pear Pizzazz ink.  This is something I haven't tried before but it seemed to work - you can see the outline from the embossing through the print of the paper.  I also inked the edges of the paper in Poppy Parade - both on the DSP and the punched scalloped oval for the sentiment.

The flower on the tag is made from the same Newsprint DSP - using both sides of the paper for maximum effect.  The paper was cut out with a scallop circle punch, spritzed, scrunched and then secured with a brad to hold the 3 layers together.

SU! Supplies used:

Card: Whisper White, Cherry Cobbler
DSP: Newsprint
Stamp Set: Party This Way
Ink: Poppy Parade, Pear Pizzazz
Punches: Scallop Circle, Scallop Oval
Ribbon: Taffeta (1 cm) Certainly Celery
Other: Brad (mettallic), Designer Brads (filigree)

Striped Birthday Card

Today's card is being submitted to the Alphabet Challenge Blog which this week is "S for Stripes".

I've used the Nursery Suite of papers again which, as you can see, can be used for just about anything.   The flowers are made using the 1 1/4" circle punch.  The punched out circles have been spritzed, scrunched up, layered and left to dry.

The tag has been left loose so that a personal message can be written on the back.

SU Supplies:

CS: Baja Breeze
DSP: Nursery Suite
Ink: Pear Pizzazz
Punches: Corner, 1 1/4" circle
Ribbon:  Certainly Celery (1 cm)
Brads
Rhinestones

Vintage Vogue Bookmark

Last Saturday I attended the Stampin' Up Regional Event in Leeds.  We were asked to take 50 swaps for sharing with other demonstrators and in return we would receive 50 cards/projects to take home.  This is a fantastic idea as it helps give inspiration to SU demonstrators as well as their customers.  The swaps were all so different - you wouldn't believe that we all had the same catalogue of products to use!

Below is the bookmark I made using th Vintage Vogue stamp set.

SU! products :
Card stock: Crumb Cake & Pumpkin Pie
Ink: Pumpkin Pie & Pear Pizzazz
Stamps: Vintage Vogue, Punch Bunch (SAB set), Punch Potpourri
Punches: Butterfly & Corner

If you like the Stampin' Up! products but don't want to host a workshop, why not think about becoming a Virtual Hostess?  That way you get all the benefits without having to do anything other than browse the catalogue (and the mini catalogue which is being launched on 1 April) and start shopping.  If you'd like more information, please email or call me.
