Royal Wedding ...

Well, as everyone has Royal Wedding fever today, I just couldn't resist making a wedding card.

The card is very simply embossed with one of the new embossing folders from the Mini Catalogue.  I've used the Vintage Wallpaper Embossing Folder which is very versatile and perfect for this card.  I've added some rhinestones in the centre of each flower to enhance the pattern.  The card has been finished with some Seam Binding Ribbon in Baja Breeze.  The sentiment is from the Cheer and Wishes stampset and has been cut out with the Modern Label Punch.

Off to enjoy the celebrations now.  Have a great day.

"Less is More"

It's so true that sometimes "Less is More".  Often we overcomplicate things in an effort to improve them.

The challenge this week on the "Less is More"  blog is 'off centre'.

I used the beautiful Botanical Gazette DSP for this card and just added a simple embellishment.

I love it and I hope you do too.

New Home

My son and his girlfriend have just moved into a new house and it seemed the perfect opportunity to use the Neighbourhood wheel.

I've used Brights DSP as the background to the card and then used the Neighbourhood Wheel on the Jumbo Roller to make the street of houses.  The houses have been coloured in using a variety of pens.

The sentiment is from the So Happy For You stamp set which has been punched out with the Modern Label punch.  The two little stars are from the Itty Bitty Bits stamp set and punched out with the matching Itty Bitty Shapes punch set.

SU Supplies:
DSP: Brights
Stamps: So Happy For You (SAB)
Wheel: Neighbourhood
Ink: Chocolate Chip, Old Olive
Punch: Modern Label, Itty Bitty Shapes

French Foliage

Today I decided to use the French Foliage stamp set from the Mini Catalogue.  It's just so gorgeous!

I used Pumpkin Pie to stamp the text and then Chocolate Chip to stamp the leaf over the top.  The edge of shape was also inked with Pumpkin Pie to soften it. So simple yet so effective.

I've added a layer of Brights DSP and a piece of Striped Grosgrain Ribbon in Pumpkin Pie to finish it off.  The button is another stamp from the French Foliage stamp set which has been cut out using a punch and then covered in Crystal Effects to make it shine.

SU Supplies:
DSP: Brights
Ink: Pumpkin Pie, Chocolate Chip
Ribbon: Striped Grosgrain (Pumpkin Pie)
Punch:  1/2" circle
Other: Crystal Effects

Pillow Box and Flower Daisies

I've just tried two of the new dies from the Mini Catalogue and they are fabulous.

I cut a pillow box from Newsprint DSP and then flower daisies in Brights DSP.  The daisies have been layered, using alternate sides of the Brights DSP.  The pillow box die creases the fold lines so it's very easy to put together.  The flower was adhered to one side of the finished pillow box - now all it needs is a treat to put inside.

Simple but very effective.  I think I'm going to be making lots of these somehow ...

SU Supplies:
DSP: Newsprint, Brights
Dies: Pillow Box, Flower Daisies

Thanks!

This beautiful card is actually very simple when you use one of the embossing folders from the new Mini Catalogue.  I've used the Vintage Wallpaper and lightly sanded it before mounting onto card stock.

I've also used one of the Four Frames stamps and the matching Decorative Label Punch.   The sentiment is from the So Happy For You stamp set.  The only other addition is two rhinestones just to finish it off.

Embossing Folder: Vintage Wallpaper
Stamp set: Four Frames, So Happy For You
Ink: Poppy Parade
Punch: Decorative Label

Totally Pink!

As you have probably guessed from the name of my blog, I like pink!

Today I've indulged my passion for pink and used it to make this beautiful card.

The card stock is Melon Mambo with a square of Whisper White which has been stamped with Versamark and then heat embossed with clear embossing powder.  The image was then inked over with Rose Red ink to reveal the beautiful butterfly underneath.

To finish if off, I stamped a butterfly from the Punch Potpourri stamp set in Rose Red and added a rhinestone.

SU! Supplies:
Card stock: Melon Mambo, Whisper White
Ink: Rose Red
Stamp set: Strength & Hope, Punch Potpourri
Ribbon: Seam Binding (Rose Red)
Punch: Butterfly
Embossing Powde: Clear

I hope you love the pink as much as I do!

This lovely designer series paper really doesn't need much embellishment - its just gorgeous as it is.

For this card I've used one of the papers as the background and then the Seam Binding Ribbon in Rose Red and a matching Big Designer Button.

The sentiment is from the Party This Way stamp set and has been stamped onto a scallop oval.  This in turn has been mounted on to a frame from the Four Frames stamp set.  I've used the Decorative Label Punch to get a professional finish.

I love this colour and the little bird in the frame is just so cute!

The Four Frames stamp set and Decorative Label Punch are from the Mini catalogue.  Don't you just love them?  The Seam Binding Ribbon (also from the Mini)  in Baja Breeze goes so well.

The button is one of the new Embosslits Dies for the Big Shot.  I added a rhinestone for a change.

Strength & Hope

I've just had a delivery from Stampin' Up! with my order from the mini catalogue.  It's full of such gorgeous things that I don't know where to start ...

I've decided to go for the beautiful Strength & Hope stamp set.  For each Strength & Hope stamp set sold, Stampin' Up! will donate £1 to The Breast Cancer Research Foundation.  Sadly we probably all know someone who has been affected by cancer, and every little helps.  If you'd like to buy this stamp set, please email me.

I've made this card using paper from the Greenhouse Gala designer series paper.  The colours are so bright and cheerful and can't help but put a smile on your face.

The inks used are pear pizzazz and pumpkin pie which co-ordinate beautifully.

Big Designer Buttons!

I've been looking at the big designer buttons in the mini catalogue for a while and yesterday I decided I was going to use them!  They are just fantatic and co-ordinate so well with lots of the designer papers.

I've also used the new seam binding which is very soft and easy to use.  I think the combination of the pear pizzazz seam binding and the rose red button look great.

SU products:

DSP: Nursery Suite, Brights
Ink: Rose red
Punch: Two step bird
Ribbon: seam binding (pear pizzazz)
Button: Big Designer Buttons (pack of 48)

If you'd like to know more about these products or attend a class, please email me.

I'm expecting a delivery from Stampin' Up! tomorrow so will have lots more goodies to play with!  Check back to see what I've been up to.

This card is being submitted to the Craft Your Passion challenge  and the Papertake Weekly Challenge - anything goes.

Banner Birthday Card

Today I've had a play with the Party This Way stamp set.

The card would make a perfect birthday card for anyone of any age.  It could be made into a party invitation very easily too so multi-purpose.

I love the cupcakes from the Itty Bitty Bits stamp set in the mini catalogue which have been added to each flag.

Today's card is being submitted to the CPS card sketch challenge.

SU Supplies:
Stamp set: Party This Way, Itty Bitty Bits

Springtime Vintage Floral Card

This card is being submitted to the Simply Stampin' Challenge which is a sketch challenge.  I love sketches because everyone interprets them so differently.

I've used a paper from the new mini catalogue - the Springtime Vintage DSP which is just lovely.  There are also buttons and seam binding which match this paper which would look lovely.

I've used both sides of one paper and then cut flowers using the Fun Flowers Bigz L Die which is just wonderful.  The flowers have been spritzed, scrunched and then layered with a brad in the middle to hold it all together.

SU Supplies:
DSP:  Springtime Vintage
Die: Fun Flowers
Brad

Let me know what you think.

Butterfly Tag

This butterfly tag was inspired by one I saw here.

I've used the Botanical Gazette DSP from the new mini catalogue.  The papers are just gorgeous and I have so many ideas for using them.  The tag shows both sides of one paper:  the torn edges have been inked with chocolate chip and peach parfait.  Peach parfait has also been used for the butterfly.  This was stamped with the Punch Potpourri stamp set, punched out with the butterfly punch and a rhinestone added.

I've finished it off with a jumbo eyelet and a piece of crumb cake seam binding from the mini

This is being submitted to the Secret Crafter Saturday Challenge - butterflies.
I hope you like it - I just love it!

SU supplies:
CS: whisper white
DSP: Gotanical Gazette
Stamps: Punch Potpourri
Ink: Chocolate Chip, Peach Parfait
Punches: butterly, corner
Ribbon: Crumb Cake seam binding

Vase of Flowers

Today's card is quick and easy and uses punches as well as stamps.

I have used the ornament punch to make the vase and the two-step bird punch for the foliage.  The flowers have been stamped in poppy parade using the Greenhouse Garden stamp set.  I've also put a rhinestone in the centre of each flower.

I've chosen red, but you could of course make this card in any of the beautiful colour combinations available.  Why not try it in spring colours?

SU Supplies:
Cardstock: Crumb Cake
DSP: Brights
Ink: Poppy Parade
Punches: Ornament, Two-step Bird
Other: rhinestones

I'm entering this card in the following challenges:

Less is More - a touch of red
Allsorts Challenge - blooming blossoms

Have a good weekend

Launch of the Mini Catalogue!

The Stampin' Up! mini catalogue has been launched today and it is full of fantastic products - including the Big Shot and several dies to go with it!  Some of the dies are exclusive to Stampin' Up! so you won't find them anywhere else.

You can access the online version using the link on the right, or email me for a hard copy.

I was lucky enough to win a stamp set from the mini catalogue at a recent card class with Amanda Bates.  It is called Plane and Simple and is fantastic for those difficult men's cards.   I don't know why we all struggle with cards for men but we do and this stamp set could be the answer.

The card stock is Crumb Cake with Chocolate Chip ink - it sounds good enough to eat!  The stamps are all from the Plane and Simple stamp set in the mini catalogue.  The background paper is from the Nursery Suite - this is definitely not a baby card!

SU Supplies:
CS: Crumb Cake
DSP: Nursery Suite
Stamps: Plane and Simple
Ink: Chocolate Chip
Punches: corner, oval scallop, round tab
Ribbon, white gel pen

If you'd like to have a look at the mini catalogue, or the main Idea Book & Catalogue, please follow the link on the right.  Alternatively call or email me to discuss products, order or classes.
