Yesterday's Card Class

Yesterday we had a great day making cards using the lovely Build a Blossom stamp set and matching punch.   As well as four cards, we made a tea light holder following Victoria's wonderful tutorial.

As you can see, they were concentrating on what they were doing and totally oblivious to the camera!

Can't wait for the next class now!  Watch this space for more details.  If you'd like to join us next time, please email me for more details

Happy Birthday Boys!

Today is the birthday of my boys,  or should I say young men?

The cards are the same but different which I hope they appreciate!  They are forever complaining that I dressed them the same when they were small which they hated.   Funny that now they can choose, they invariably choose the same things ...

Anyway, have a great day boys

I've used the now retired Newsprint DSP and some lovely buttons and linen thread to make this simple but effective cards.

Happy Birthday Paul

Today is my friend Paul's birthday.  I won't see him today but we're going to both eat chocolate cake to celebrate.  Hopefully he will have opened his card by now and appreciate the cake and candle!

The card is made with the now retired scrapbook kit which is also perfect for cards.

Hope you enjoy your day Paul

The Last of My Build A Blossom Cards ...

I couldn't resist just one more card using this wonderful stamp set.  This set has so many variations in petals and leaves that it can be used for a variety of cards that all look completely different.

The background paper is from the 2011-12 In-Colour DSP stack again but this time in Pear Pizzazz.  The petals are in fact two different stamps - the smaller one stamped over the larger petals and then cut out with the matching punch.  I love the matching punches as I'm not very good at cutting out!

Hope you like this simple but effective card

Petals and Leaves

I've been playing with some more variations using the 2011-12 In-Colours Peach Parfait and Pear Pizzazz along with the Build a Blossom stamp set.

I can't resist using the Big Shot and the Top Note die but this time I've used background paper from the In-Colour DSP stack.  The petals are from the Build a Blossom stamp set and the leaves are another die  - Little Leaves Sizzlets die which is so versatile.

Don't forget to book your place at the next class on 29 October when we will be using the Build a Blossom stamp set and making cards like this one.

Build A Blossom Punch Art

I normally stamp the images but today I decided to have a go at punch art - I just couldn't resist this sweet little dress made from flower petals and the tab punch.  Don't you just love it?

The skirt itself is layers of petals punched out of velum.  I inked the back of the smaller petals to give them a bit of colour.  The bodice is the round tab punch with the neckline punched out with the 1/2" circle punch.  After that it's just embellishments and ribbon to finish if off.

Great fun to make!
