I loved the style of this card so much I just had to make another using Christmas papers and stamps!
I've used the retired Jolly Holiday DSP and the lovely Dasher stamp as well as the Contempo Christmas stamp set.
Hope you like them

Crafts for Christmas
I've had a lovely day with Kathy making Christmas cards. I know it's still a bit early but to get us in the right mood, we had mince pies ...
We had everything out! Christmas stamp sets (Delightful Decorations & Contempo Christmas) as well as lots of punches - including the owl punch to make Father Christmas ...
We used the soon to be retired Jolly Holiday DSP and co-ordnating cardstock and inks.
These are the results ...
A great day. Looking forward to the next one already

Christmas Trees and Baubles ...
The final group of cards we made at the training day are below. All using the Contempo Christmas stamp set but in different colours and using different embellishments to add that special something.
My thanks to Shazza for helping me with the ruffled ribbon on the second card! This was a new technique for me and her help was much appreciated.
If you'd like to know more about these cards and the products used, please email me

More Christmas Card Ideas
Following a delicious buffet lunch on Saturday - with the usual scrummy cupcakes! - we made some Christmas cards using the Contempo Christmas stamp set
For these 2 cards we used the Big Shot and some embossing folders to get some texture on the Christmas trees on the first card and the background on the second.
Adding texture really does add value to the card and turn them from something quite simple to something quite special.

New Technique
I've been playing with new techniques and decided to have a go at inlaid embossing using the ornament punch and the polka dot embossing folder.
The images have been stamped using the Contempo Christmas stamp set. The background paper is from Jolly Holiday DSP.

Christmas Gift Card Holder and Pillow Box
As promised, here are the final two projects we made at Julie's workshop last Saturday.
The gift card holder is just perfect for the credit card style gift vouchers which all the stores are selling now. The front flips open and there is a slot just right to hold the voucher in place. To make this project we used Crumb Cake card stock, some more of the Jolly Holiday DSP and the ornament and sentiment stamps from the Contempo Christmas stamp set. The Ornament Punch and Scallop Trim Punch have also been used. To finish off we tied the gift card holder with striped Grosgrain Ribbon.
The pillow box was made with the fabulous Big Shot and the Pillow Box Die. It has been decorated with swirls from the Baroque Motifs stamp set and a poinsetta made from the 5-petal flower punch added to finish it off. This is just perfect for a small present or treat.
As you can see, we had a very productive day and really got in the Christmas mood!

The final two Christmas cards
Here are the final two Christmas cards we made on Saturday:
The poinsettas are made using three layers of the 5 Petal Flower Punch and some rhinestones. Very effective and Christmassy.
The papers are from the Jolly Holiday DSP as before. The sentiment is from the Contempo Christmas stamp set which is such a useful stamp set to have with a mixture of sentiments and images.
Tomorrow I'll show you the final two projects we made at the workshop on Saturday. Definitely a very productive day and really got me thinking about Christmas!

Christmas Cards in July!
At the Christmas in July workshop on Saturday we made several cards. Here are two of them which, as you can see, are just the reverse of each other; even the background papers are either side of a double-sided sheet of Jolly Holiday DSP.
The stamp set is Contempo Christmas with the ornaments stamped in Cherry Cobbler and Old Olive inks.
The scallop trim punch has also been used to decorate the card stock
Check back tomorrow to more of the cards we made
