Apothecary Art

I'm just loving the Framelet Dies and the Apothecary Art stamp set.  I saw this card and could resist having a go.

The card has a background of Blushing Bride card stock which has been textured with the Perfect Polka Dots embossing folder.  The paper is from the gorgeous Twitterpated DSP and edged with Island Indigo using the Scallop Edge Border punch.  The centre of the card has been die cut with the Framelets Dies and the co-ordinating Apothecary Art stamp set.  A simple and delightful card!

Rose Gift Box

I haven't made a pillow box gift box for a while so decided to include one in the recent class.  The beautiful rose is made using the owl punch and two circle punches and the lovely Just Add Cake DSP.

To add some texture, we used the Perfect Polka Dots textured impressions embossing folder.

This is just perfect for a chocolate treat or maybe a small piece of jewellery.

Sneak peek

This is a sneek peak at one of the cards we'll be making at the next class on Saturday 29 October.

We'll be using the Big Shot with the Top Note die as well as the Perfect Polka Dots embossing folder to give it some texture.  The beautiful flower is made from layers of petals using the Build a Blossom stamp set and the matching punch.

Come and join us on Saturday 29 October to make this and several other cards using the Build  a Blossom stamp set.  Message me to book your place

Happy Birthday Janet

Today is the birthday of my lovely friend, Janet.  I made this card for her using some of the retiring Stampin' Up! papers which I just love.  The background is from the Springtime Vintage DSP with matching seam binding ribbon.

I just had to use the top note and emboss it with the polka dot embossing folder in the Big Shot!

Happy birthday Janet and I hope you have a lovely day

New Technique

I've been playing with new techniques and decided to have a go at inlaid embossing using the ornament punch and the polka dot embossing folder.

The images have been stamped using the Contempo Christmas stamp set. The background paper is from Jolly Holiday DSP.

Owl Easel Card

Today I decided to try the new  two step owl punch from the mini catalogue and this is the result.  What do you think?  He's just so cute!

The base is Crumb Cake CS with Blushing Bride CS for the square.   This has in turn been through the Big Shot using the Perfect Polka Dots embossing folder to give it some texture.  The owl itself has been punched out using  the Two Step Owl Punch with Very Vanilla  and Chocolate Chip CS.   The branch is Pear Pizzazz CS and the Two Step Bird Punch.

I've also used one of the Itty Bitty Shapes Punches for the little flowers and the Scallop Oval Punch for the sentiment.  The sentiment itself is from the Because I Care stamp set

One For the Boys

Another sunny day but a bit chilly outside again so I've decided to stay in and make a card for the boys - something I always find difficult for some reason.  Why is that when there are some wonderful stamp sets and papers to use?  Anyway, the Plane and Simple stamp set is perfect for mens' cards. I hope you agree.

I used Concord Crush as the base card and embossed it with the Perfect Polka Dots Textured  Impressions Embossing Folder.   Crumb Cake card stock has been used for the scalloped circle and Word Window.  The image and sentiment are also in Concord Crush.  I added a Big Designer Button from the Springtime Vintage Suite.   The final element is the gorgeous Crumb Cake Seam Binding Ribbon.

"One for the Boys" is the challenge over at Bunny Zoe's Crafts; over at Cards for Men the theme is circles and the Papertake Weekly Challenge is anything goes with the option of something round.  Also entered into the Top Tip Tuesday open challenge.

Perhaps I should go out and enjoy the sunshine while it lasts.
