Happy Birthday with Flowers

I have quite a few birthday cards to make in January and this is the next one, Richard's mum.

I decided to use a new stamp which I bought a while ago but haven't used yet.

The background paper is from last year's catalogue so now sadly retired.  The stamp set is Posy Punch which has been stamped in Wisteria Wonder to match the base card.  The centre of the flowers have been stamped with Concord Crush and finished off with a pearl.  I've used the fancy flower punch and 1/2" circle punch to give a more professional look to the stamped images - I find punches so much easier to use than scissors and use them wherever possible!

I've entered this card into the following challenges:

Crazy4Challenges - New Toys - C4C118
Papers Sundaes Challenge - #102 Saturated Colours

Beautiful Butterflies

Today's card is for my friend Lisa's birthday.  Again I've used the retired Newsprint DSP but the cardstock is the beautiful Wisteria Wonder from the 2011-12 catalogue.   The butterflies have been stamped in Wisteria Wonder and Concord Crush ink using the Flight of the Butterfly stampset.  The tiny flowers from the Itty Bitty Bits stampset just add to the sentiment - and I just couldn't resist adding a few pearls as well!

Have a great day Lisa x

Happy Birthday Kathy

Happy birthday to my lovely friend, Kathy.

Kathy regularly attends my card classes so might well recognise the stamp set - which is sadly now retired - and the crochet trim (from the current catalogue).

Like me, she loves pink ...

Thank You!

Having had a wonderful Christmas and received some beautiful presents, I need to make some "thank you" cards.  I've used retired papers but the flowers are from the Vintage Vogue stamp set which I love.  It is one of the first stamp sets I bought and I use it a lot as it's so versatile

I've entered these cards in the Top Tip Tuesday challenge "anything goes".

There are so many birthdays coming up in January that I need to start making cards for so please come back soon and see what I've been doing.

Don't forget the class on 28 January - book your place now!

Christmas Joy Card

I loved the style of this card so much I just had to make another using Christmas papers and stamps!

I've used the retired Jolly Holiday DSP and the lovely Dasher stamp as well as the Contempo Christmas stamp set.

Hope you like them

Plane and Simple

I know that this set has now been retired but when I was asked to make a card suitable for a young man, this stamp set immediately sprang to mind.

The design is a joy fold card and the idea came from a card made at a recent class at the Craft Spa.  My finished card is completely different though as I've used different papers and stamps.

To fit in with the travel theme of the plane, I've used the maps from the Newsprint DSP in the 2010-11 catalogue.  Sadly this paper is no longer available.

I'm really pleased with the finished card and will be having another go with some of the beautiful new papers in the 2011-12 catalogue.

Stampin' Royalty Challenge #96

The Stampin' Royalty Challenge this week is a colour challenge using Melon Mambo, Blushing Bride and Peach Parfait.   This is what I've come up with ...

The stamp set is Flight of the Butterfly which is perfect for this card.  I've also used the Scallop Square punch and the Scallop Edge Border punch.  The paper is Melon Mambo with some In Colour 2010/12 DSP for the central strip.
