Rose Gift Box

I haven't made a pillow box gift box for a while so decided to include one in the recent class.  The beautiful rose is made using the owl punch and two circle punches and the lovely Just Add Cake DSP.

To add some texture, we used the Perfect Polka Dots textured impressions embossing folder.

This is just perfect for a chocolate treat or maybe a small piece of jewellery.

Valentine's Card

Stuck for inspiration for a Valentine's card?   How about using the Heart to Heart punch and matching stampset, I {heart} Hearts?

We also used the Sweetheart stamp set around the treat cup. The punched out heart didn't go to waste as you can see!

Finally a piece of the Just Add Cake DSP was edged with the Scallop Trim Border punch to make the background.

Yesterday's Card Class

Yesterday we had great fun making some cards with the Just Add Cake DSP which co-ordinates with Wild Wasabi, Poppy Parade, Peach Parfait, Baja Breeze, Blushing Bride, Early Espresso, So Saffron and Whisper White.

For the first card we used the wonderful Owl Builder Punch which everyone loves.  We used the Top Note die for the background, the Little Leaves Sizzlits die for the branch (we cut off a couple of the leaves and re-positioned them!) and the gorgeous organza ribbon.

Check back soon to see some more of the cards we made.

The next class is on Saturday 25 February - book your place now!

Happy Birthday Hazel ...

One of my great friends is celebrating a big birthday today ... and no, I'm not going to tell you which birthday!

I've made a special card for a special lady.  I just love the rose - can you work out which punch I've used?

The card stock is one of the new colours for 2011/12 - Wisteria Wonder and the beautiful background paper is from the Cheerful Treat DSP - one of the new hostess products which you can buy with hostess pounds if you host a party.

I've also added some pearls.

To see how to make the rose, have a look at this tutorial.  The leaves are Lucky Limeade CS and punched out with the leaf from the Blossom Petals Builder.

I've entered this into the Alphabet Challenge Blog - You Can Choose - and Top Tip Tuesday - Anything Goes.

Have a great day Hazel

Happy Birthday with Flowers

I have quite a few birthday cards to make in January and this is the next one, Richard's mum.

I decided to use a new stamp which I bought a while ago but haven't used yet.

The background paper is from last year's catalogue so now sadly retired.  The stamp set is Posy Punch which has been stamped in Wisteria Wonder to match the base card.  The centre of the flowers have been stamped with Concord Crush and finished off with a pearl.  I've used the fancy flower punch and 1/2" circle punch to give a more professional look to the stamped images - I find punches so much easier to use than scissors and use them wherever possible!

I've entered this card into the following challenges:

Crazy4Challenges - New Toys - C4C118
Papers Sundaes Challenge - #102 Saturated Colours

Beautiful Butterflies

Today's card is for my friend Lisa's birthday.  Again I've used the retired Newsprint DSP but the cardstock is the beautiful Wisteria Wonder from the 2011-12 catalogue.   The butterflies have been stamped in Wisteria Wonder and Concord Crush ink using the Flight of the Butterfly stampset.  The tiny flowers from the Itty Bitty Bits stampset just add to the sentiment - and I just couldn't resist adding a few pearls as well!

Have a great day Lisa x

Happy Birthday Kathy

Happy birthday to my lovely friend, Kathy.

Kathy regularly attends my card classes so might well recognise the stamp set - which is sadly now retired - and the crochet trim (from the current catalogue).

Like me, she loves pink ...
